Composer-in-Residence

posted October 24, 2014
Posted by in News

Bernard Hughes has been appointed as Composer-in-Residence at St Paul’s Girls’ School in London, and will take up his position there in January 2015. The school, one of the leading independent girls’ schools in the country, has a long tradition of having composers on its staff, including Gustav Holst, Ralph Vaughan Williams, Herbert Howells and, more recently, Nicola LeFanu. The position of Composer-in-Residence will involve teaching composition as well as writing music for choirs and ensembles throughout the school.

Feel very privileged to have the chance to mix in such truly august company, whether at The Anglesea Arms or at St Mary Magdalene. Hope it’s going well and the welcome’s been warm!
