St Magnus Festival performance

Bernard Hughes’s music will feature at this year’s St Magnus International Festival in June. A new chamber version of the narrated family piece Bernard & Isabel will be premiered at the Pickaquoy Centre Arena, Kirkwall on 25 June 2015. The performance will be by the new Assembly Project ensemble, conducted by festival Artistic Director Alasdair Nicolson and narrated by actor Jonathan Hyde. The chamber version of Bernard & Isabel was commissioned by the festival and is based on the orchestral work premiered at Symphony Hall, Birmingham in 2010. It tells two stories by the renowned children’s author David McKee, Not Now, Bernard and Isabel’s Noisy Tummy.
