Song cycle premiere

Bernard Hughes’s new song cycle Songs of Lost Love is being premiered by Felicity Hayward (soprano) and Catherine Herriott (piano) at a charity concert on Saturday 11 April. The premiere is part of the concert ‘Songcircle’ featuring new works by five composers mostly based in London, and will be at St Mary’s Magdalene Parish Church, Munster Square, London. The concert is in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support, with all proceeds going to the charity. Songs of Lost Love set short poems on the theme of love thwarted or denied, by poets ranging from Robert Burns to Thomas Hardy. More information is available here and here.
